Dealing with Others Stealing Your Joy

Dealing with The Unrighteousness of Others

Too many people allow the unrighteousness of others to erode your peace.

The unrighteous steal your peace so that they can have a little bit for themselves.

How to deal with this:

Personally

  • Don't let them draw you back into your old bad habits.

  • Don't let them disturb your peace

  • Don't let their life become your own. Don't let their drama become your drama. Don't let their mess become your mess. Don't find yourself having to carry their burden.

  • Disconnect yourself from their social media. Disconnect yourself from contact with them.

  • Don't participate in their unrighteousness.

  • Don't be an enabler. Don't help them without a requirement of growth or change. Don't support their lifestyle (cosign, pay for, finance, invest in, get involved with, etc.)

  • Love does not support those unrighteous behaviors.

  • Stand firm in your position so that they don't continue to test you on what you say. If they know you mean what you say, then they won't need to test you.

Spiritually

  • Learn to Trust God concerning His people.

  • Keep your peace. Jesus promised it to you, so don't give it away. (John 16:33)

  • 1 Corinthians 6: 14 - 17 Be you not unequally yoked

  • If you want light, don't fellowship with darkness

Medically

  • Speak to a therapist or life coach about ways to restructure your life so that you can maintain your peace.
